Market Report 2012
Although we have been experiencing such terrible weather, it seems that summer is finally nearly here. With this we see an exciting change in the availability of fruits and vegetables.
English asparagus, new potatoes and primo cabbage are all now readily available. New season English carrots and beetroots are cropping well, and will soon start to appear on the website.
As Spanish oranges are reaching the end of the season, we see a shift to the Moroccan varieties, soon to be followed by the South African varieties. New season nectarines, peaches and apricots coming from Europe are appearing in Market also.
The long awaited cherry season is just starting and will continue until August.
Best of all, English Strawberries and Raspberries with their unique flavour will feature on the website over the coming months.
English salad items are now plentiful, including Cucumbers, lettuce, spring onions and raddish. At last salad days are here!
